will ever play at Oracle Arena in Oakland and it just happens to be a must-win Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.
The Warriors are down 3-2 in the best-of-7 series and need to win the game scheduled at 6 p.m. to force a Game 7 in Toronto on Sunday and keep hopes alive for their third straight championship and fourth in five years.
Win or lose, it will be the last game the team will play after 47 years at Oracle Arena. Starting next season, the Warriors are moving across the Bay to the new Chase Center arena in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood.
Sparse tickets are still available on the Warriors’ website for Thursday’s game, with almost all well over $1,000 each as of Thursday afternoon.
Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf earlier this week put two tickets up for bid in a charity auction for fans who want to watch the game from the city of Oakland’s luxury suite.
The auction to benefit the Alameda County Community Food Bank ended at noon Thursday with the winning bid at $7,200.
